Naples, the Atitech Vaccine Centre closes. The centre, inaugurated last May, was realised by the ASL 1, Naples Centre, under the surveillance of the Regional Government. The structure was essential to the anti Covid-19 vaccine campaign and it brought excellent results in Campania.
The hub was organised in the Atitech hangar Avio 2, that the President, Gianni Lettieri, made available to the cause for free and resulted as a key point to the Neapolitan vaccination progress. President Vincenzo De Luca affirms: “Campania region was able to respond to the emergency efficiently and with a great organization, showing not to be second to anyone. We put a great effort to rescue our population. Still, the virus is around and it is dangerous and we cannot lower the guard if we are willing to keep the advantage acquired. I here stress the invitation to get vaccinated, to those who haven’t done it yet. To those who got vaccinated more than six months ago, get ready to the third dose ”
If we take a look at numbers, the key role of the Atitech vaccine hub is evident. Ciro Verdoliva, ASL 1 Centre General Director reminds us: “Last week, the structure ended its activity reaching 260.000 vaccinations in 6 months. This intercompany vaccine centre has been one of the biggest around Italy: a 10.000-meter-square hangar, 150 personnel units every day, 14 acceptation boxes, 32 vaccine boxes and a first aid area. Thanks to all of those who constantly worked to make all of this possible. And of course a big thank you to the President, Gianni Lettieri who showed his sympathy and availability since the beginning, granting us the spaces for free”
The Capodichino vaccine centre made possible the take off of the Campania vaccine campaign, reaching up to 6.000 administration per day.
Gianni Lettieri, talking to the President Vincenzo De Luca, says: “I felt the urge to take a step ahead to help the institutions in this critical moment. It was a significant experience, a virtuous example of synergy between the private and the public sphere as Atitech, Campania region and ASL Naples 1 Centre worked together. Atitech is now looking with trustworthiness to the territory and will keep its commitment to collaborate next to institutions responding when necessary”
